Tooth whitening is one of the most popular cosmetic dental procedures and achieves superb results. Our dentists treat many of our patients with tooth whitening. Using the right product, teeth whitening is safe and helps to lighten teeth as well as remove discolouration and staining. Great improvements can be achieved with minimum disruption to your teeth.
Some people’s teeth stain quicker than others and whilst otherrs have naturally yellow teeth. Some of the most common reasons for teeth to get yellow or stained is due to smoking, drinking dark coloured drinks such as coffee or red wine, or generally not taking care of teeth and practicing good oral hygiene.

Before treatment, our dentist will require an initial consultation with you. We will need to check that your gums and teeth are healthy before recommending teeth bleaching products. We will also discuss the shade of whiteness you would like to achieve.
If your teeth and gums are healthy, our dentist will take impressions of your upper and lower teeth and then personal teeth whitening trays will be made to fit your mouth.
Once your trays have been made, your dentist will invite you back to the dental practice where you will be asked to try on your new whitening trays. They should fit you perfectly and then your dentist will demonstrate to you how the home Zoom Night whitening kit works. You will be given full instructions including how long to wear them and what to do if your teeth and gums feel sensitive.
Your dentist may ask to see you after a period of time to assess whether the desired look has been achieved.
The effects of tooth whitening can last several years but it is dependent on what you eat, drink and whether you smoke as well. The bleaching solution will not cause damage to your tooth enamel but tooth whitening should only be carried out by a fully trained and registered dentist.
